A Broken Heart?

How do you get over a broken heart? Does there ever come a time when you finally stop remembering the pain? Does the pain of rejection ever go away? Somehow this old cowboy must manage to try to live thru another day. But how can I do this with all these tears falling from my eyes?

When you whispered those special words of love in my ear, I though your words were like mine, I thought they were all true. How wrong could I be, for if they were true, then how could you slam the door and simply walk away? The silence leaves me so broken and cold. Without trust in your words what remains for us to say?

Wise sages say; 'You never really get over a broken heart.' But if this is true then it's impossible to just pick up the pieces and make a fresh start...
